There are few activities in life that offer a better combination of relaxation and excitement than fishing. Of course, some of us experience a lot more of the relaxation portion than we would like! Sure, you can throw a line in the water, but learning just a few pointers on proper fishing techniques can dramatically increase your chances at a big catch. With that in mind, the Hot Springs Village Angler’s Club and Basecamp have joined forces to offer a fishing seminar on Saturday, April 7!
The seminar will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Coronado Community Center and will cover all the basics that a novice fisherman needs to land the big one. Rod & reel selection, types of fishing lines, knot tying, rigging and fishing techniques, and types of bait for catching local species such as bass, crappie, and bream will all be discussed. Attendees will be divided into groups of four and assigned to an experienced fishing instructor for their lessons. At the conclusion of the seminar, door prizes will be awarded and everyone will be able to head outside for live demonstrations on Lake Coronado (weather permitting).
The class is limited to 24 students, so don't wait to claim your spot! Tickets are just $10 per person and can be purchased here. Questions can be emailed to Michael at mbynaker@hsvpoa.org.
