Household hazardous materials need to be disposed of properly and thankfully residents of Saline and Garland County can attend an event that will let you bring these items to be processed safely. If you are resident of either county you may head to Garland County Fairgrounds, located at 4831 Malvern Avenue, Hot Springs, Arkansas, on Saturday, October 16th from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. and utilize the drive through service and collection.
Items that are deemed household hazardous materials are typically leftover from household projects that you may have performed through the year. These products are often flammable, corrosive, toxic and should not be stored where they can cause damage to unsuspecting children and property. It is wise to remove these items from your home but it is important to do this in a safe manner. Items such as unused paint, oils, pesticides should not be disposed of in weekly trash pick-up services or poured down drains. Anytime that you use a product that is hazardous to the environment you should take great care of its disposal.
Hot Springs Village residents that are eligible to take part in this service should make plans to attend this useful event. This collection event is sponsored by the Southwest Central Regional Solid Waste Management District. No hazardous waste from companies and businesses will be accepted and is for households use only.
