Hot Springs Village to Remember Anniversary of September 11, 2001

September 11, 2001 memorialIn remembrance of the 20th anniversary of the September 11th attacks, Hot Springs Village will play host to gatherings dedicated to the memory of those lost in those events. September 11th is recognized by the United States as Patriot Day annually as a remembrance of the many lives lost on this date in 2001. 

Hot Springs Village will be celebrating Village Patriot Day (Saturday, September 11th) by presenting a program at Woodlands Auditorium, located in the Ponce De Leon Center, 1101 DeSoto Blvd, Hot Springs Village starting at 2 p.m.. The 90 minute program (along with a 15 minute intermission) will feature local musical groups and videos aimed at remembering and honoring the events that took place 20 years ago. The auditorium will also feature artwork from students of the Jessieville School District in nearby Jessieville, AR. The Hot Springs Community Band will also provide a video that is sure to be a lovely addition to the program. The event is free to the public and there will be opportunities to donate to three separate funds which include the Pentagon Memorial in Arlington,Virginia, Flight 93 Memorial in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, and 9/11 Museum in New York City, New York. In an event sponsored by the Hot Springs Village Republican Woman a dinner will be presented the evening of September 11th in Grove Park, 1105 DeSoto Blvd, Hot Springs Village, starting at 4:30 p.m. and ending at 6:30 p.m. Be sure to bring your own chairs to the event. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased here. The ticket price includes dinner and a presentation of speakers and music performances. All proceeds from this event will go to Hot Springs Village First Responders. FYI - If you are a Hot Springs Village First Responder (Fire, EMS and Police) you can eat for free at this event!

Never forget the fallen heroes who died on September 11, 2001 and we honor and remember those who did perish on that fateful day 20 years ago.
