Starting March 1st Hot Springs Village has updated certain rules and regulations that accompany the removal of yard waste.
The first thing to know is that a yard waste tag is required for each biodegradable bag that will be picked up. These tags can be purchased at the POA Office as a lot of 5 for $5. The POA office is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. to purchase these tags.
Once the bags are purchased and you have filled them with the yard waste you must place them within 5 feet of the edge of the road. The lawn/yard waste bags can be purchased at most hardware stores, Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Lowe’s or even on-line retailers. The yard waste must be in bags and weigh no more than 40 pounds. Each time you set up a collection time there is a limit of 50 bags per collection period. In order to schedule a pickup please complete the online form on our Sanitation and Recycling Page. You can also call the Sanitation Department directly at 501-922- 5524. Their hours are from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Starting March 1st you will no loger be able to place plastic yard waste bags at the curb for pick-up. The MUST be in the properly tagged biodegradable paper bag. Last December the HSVPOA Board of Directors approved the new revised policy reguarding sanitation and this include the new yard waste policy. To view the policy click here.
If you have any large limbs that need to be picked up they must be a length of four feet or less and be no more than 3 inches in diameter. They must be bundled and they are also limited to the 40 pound restriction.
Be sure to not dispose of any leaves or yard waste into any lake, onto any golf course property or anywhere that is considered common property. This is not allowed.
Yard waste does not get placed with your regular weekly trash pick-up. You have to call the Sanitation Department at 501-922-5524 to schedule a time for the bags to be picked up on Fridays Please adhere to the weight and number of bags limit when setting up a pick-up time.
