The spring season is upon us, and that means that all the incredible sports leagues around the Village are getting back into the swing of things! In this post, learn how you can become a part of your preferred sport, whether it's tennis, bocce ball, pickleball, or softball!
First up on the agenda is tennis! The Hot Springs Village Tennis Association is happy to present their Tennis Free-For-All lesson program! Whether you are a newcomer to the game or just haven't swung a racket in awhile, the HSVTA will be happy to teach you the basics of this incredibly fun sport! Lessons will be held at the Coronado Tennis Center located at 151 Ponderosa Way during two multi-day sessions: Monday - Thursday, March 28 - 31 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. and Monday - Thursday, April 4 - 7 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. All lessons are directed by USPTA Elite Tennis Professional Bob Wagstaff! Next up is bocce ball! The HSV Bocce Ball Club is happy to announce the start of their 2016 Spring Season on March 31st at 3 PM (weather permitting)! Matches are played at the bocce ball courts just right of the parking lot at the Coronado Community Center, located at 150 Ponderosa Lane. Not to be outdone by the tennis players, the HSV Pickleball Club will be having their annual meeting on Thursday, March 31, at 6:00 p.m. The event will be held at the Desoto Recreation Complex (located at 209 Desoto Boulevard) and will feature the introduction of the 2016/17 Pickleball officers. Last, but certainly not least, the HSV Senior Softball Spring League is just about to begin! The League is beginning practice for its second season (running April - November) and is looking to recruit new players. Over 60 people are already registered to play in this co-ed league. Men who wish to participate must be age 50+, while women must be age 35+. All skill levels are welcome and play is under "Senior Friendly" rules. The Spring Season officially begins Thursday, April 7, so be sure to register before then! If you are interested in playing, please come to the practices held each Tuesday and Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Boys & Girls Club located just north of the West Gate.
