Grove Park Sets Tree Lighting Event

dog with christmas hatJoin the Hot Springs Village POA and Balboa Baptist Church at Grove Park this Friday, December 1st, for the Christmas tree lighting and a canned food drive for the community. This event will feature cocoa, coffee, and cookies starting at 5:30 p.m. Train rides will also be provided by First HSV.

The tree in Grove Park, located at 1105 DeSoto Blvd. here in Hot Springs Village, will be lit for all to enjoy. A canned food drive is an ongoing event that will take place at the Ponce de Leon Center through January 8th. To start this drive, everyone is encouraged to donate canned food to the tree-lighting event.

A special production of the Nutcracker, presented by the Hot Springs Children's Dance Theatre Company, will be held after the lighting of the tree at 7:30 p.m. so if interested you can get tickets here. The price for the tickets is $25 for adults and $15 for students.

Chief Asks Retired Firefighters For Information

fire truckAre you a retired Firefighter who lives here in Hot Springs Village? Chief Jason Miller is looking for interested parties to contact him at jmiller@hsvpoa.org to establish a meeting time for responders to the inquiry. Chief Miller hopes to create a group to share experiences and information to help the Hot Springs Village Fire Department gather ideas. When a time and place is created coffee and refreshments will be provided.

Village Nature Trail Photography Contest Submissions Needed

wooded trailHot Springs Village Trails Committee is sponsoring a Fall photo contest from October 15th through November 15th. You have till November 15th to send in your photos. Each photo entered should be from the trails of Hot Springs Village. Winners will be chosen from a set of four categories with a “Best Overall” photo from all of the entries submitted. The categories to choose from are Flowers and Foliage, People and Pets, Wildlife, and Water Features. Remember each photo should represent each category set in the backdrop of the beautiful and amazing trails we have here in Hot Springs Village.
